RIGSUM SHERIG COLLECTION 3.0 INSTALL GUIDE
Requirements
Most computers manufactured after 2006 can run the Sherig Collection. Here are the requirements:
Computer running Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or 3), Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
CPU Pentium 3 and above
256 MB RAM and above
Required space for complete installation: 28 GB
Easy 5-Step Installation
1. Log on to Windows as Administrator. Make sure the Administrator account is password-protected. If the Administrator account has no password, create a password for the Administrator (Control Panel→User Accounts→Create a Password).
2. Copy the Sherig 3.0 folder from an external hard disk to C:\ (or D:\). This will create a C:\Sherig 3.0 (or D:\Sherig 3.0) directory with all the software.
3. Navigate to the C:\Sherig 3.0 (or D:\Sherig 3.0) directory. Double-click INSTALL or INSTALL.cmd. This will start the install process. Follow the instructions. Note: Installation can take up to 60 minutes.
Upgrading from Sherig 2.0
To upgrade, first follow these steps to delete the old Sherig 2.0 software.
Log in to Windows as Administrator.
Navigate to the Sherig 2.0 folder (usually C:\Sherig 2.0 or D:\Sherig 2.0).
Double-click the UNINSTALL or UNINSTALL.cmd file to uninstall Sherig 2.0
Delete the old Sherig 2.0 folder (C:\Sherig 2.0 or D:\Sherig 2.0).
Proceed directly to step 2 in the "Easy 5-Step Installation"
Dzongkha for Windows Vista, 7, 8
Add Dzongkha keyboard:
Click Start.
Type intl.cpl in the Search box. Click “OK”.
In tab Keyboards and Languages, click “Change keyboards...”.
Click “Add” and choose "Dzongkha (Bhutan)". Click "OK".
Dzongkha for Windows XP
Click “Start”. Click “Run”. Type intl.cpl in the Run box. Click “OK”. Go to Languages tab.
Add Dzongkha Keyboard.
Click “Options”. Click “Add...”.
Select "Input Language" as “Icelandic”.
For "Keyboard layout/IME” choose “Dzongkha Keyboard”.
Click “OK”. Click “Apply”.
Enable Complex-Script Support (requires Windows XP installation CD).
In the same Languages tab, tick the checkbox for “Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai)”. Click "OK". Click "Apply".
You will be asked to insert a Windows XP CD so the necessary files can be copied to your computer. Insert the Windows CD. Click "OK".
Remove the Windows CD and click “OK” to restart the computer.
4. If you haven’t already, create a non-admin user account with standard/limited permissions.
5. Log on to each user account. Start Wikipedia. Go to File→Open then navigate to C:\Sherig 3.0\Wikipedia (or D:\Sherig 3.0\Wikipedia) and choose the first Wikipedia database (for example, Wikipedia-for-Schools-2013). Repeat for the two other databases.
